Special Meeting

CALL TO ORDER

The Board of Trustees of the Town of Deer Trail met in special session on Thursday, December 16, 2004 at the Town Hall, 555 Second Avenue, Deer Trail, Colorado. Mayor Tink Rector called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the upcoming wastewater project.

ROLL CALL

Mayor: Tink Rector  Trustees Present: Ralph Haight, Gary Lavoie, Russell Ness, Tami Stoumbaugh, Dutch Venter, Melvin Wood

Staff Present: Patti Owens, Town Clerk; Randy Eldringhoff, Maintenance

WASTEWATER PROJECT

Dave Frisch from GMS, Inc. attended the meeting. Dave reviewed the bids, the budget, and general information about the upcoming wastewater project.

TRUSTEE LAVOIE MOVED, TRUSTEE STOUMBAUGH SECONDED to award Schedule 1 with Additive Alternate No. 1 and Schedule 2 with Additive Alternate No. 1 to Interstate Irrigation in the amount of $1,240,388.80 and authorize Mayor Tink Rector to sign the contract documents, including all contract documents with Rural Development, and Notice to Proceed. Voting was as follows:

YES: Haight, Lavoie, Ness, Rector, Stoumbaugh, Venter, Wood  NO: None  ABSTAIN: None  ABSENT: None

The Mayor declared the motion carried.

TRUSTEE LAVOIE MOVED, TRUSTEE WOOD SECONDED to adopt Resolution 04-24 authorizing the Mayor to enter into and sign with Union Pacific Railroad Company, a pipeline crossing agreement, needed for wastewater system improvements owned by and constructed by the Town. Voting was as follows:  YES: Lavoie, Ness, Rector, Stoumbaugh, Venter, Wood, Haight  NO: None

ABSTAIN: None  ABSENT: None

The Mayor declared the motion carried.

A letter will be sent to all property owners adjacent to the alleys where the sewer line will be replaced, asking them to remove obstacles from their alleys.

ADJOURNMENT

TRUSTEE LAVOIE MOVED, TRUSTEE STOUMBAUGH SECONDED to adjourn the meeting. The motion carried.

The regular meeting was adjourned at 6:55 p.m.
