ELECTION INFORMATION

The Town of Deer Trail will hold its regular biennial municipal election on Tuesday, April 6, 2010.  Six Board positions will be filled:  Mayor (four-year term) and five Trustees (three four-year terms and two two-year terms).  Persons wishing to run for office must meet the following criteria:  U.S. citizen; at least 18 years of age; resident of the Town for 12 consecutive months preceding the date of election; and registered elector.  Nomination petitions and other candidate forms may be downloaded and printed from this site (below) or are available at the Town Hall, 555 Second Avenue.

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 15 IS THE FIRST DAY THAT NOMINATION PETITIONS MAY BE CIRCULATED.

Signed petitions must be returned to the Town Clerk by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 5.

The last day to register to vote for the Town election is Monday, March 8.  Voters may register on line at Arapahoe County's website, www.arapahoevotes.com, or at the Town Hall.

Per Colorado state law [31-10-1002 (2.5)] every registered voter in Deer Trail with the status as permanent mail-in voter with Arapahoe County will receive an official absent voter's ballot, to be mailed on Monday, March 29.  These ballots are handled the same as absentee ballots and may be returned to the Town Clerk by mail or hand delivery anytime before 7:00 p.m. on election day, Tuesday, April 6.
