Regular Meeting

CALL TO ORDER

 

The Board of Trustees of the Town of Deer Trail met in regular session on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at the Town Hall, 555 Second Avenue, Deer Trail, Colorado.  Mayor Jim Johnson called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

APPROVAL OF AGENDA

 

TRUSTEE LAVOIE MOVED, TRUSTEE STOUMBAUGH SECONDED to approve the agenda.  The motion carried.

 

APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES

 

TRUSTEE STOUMBAUGH MOVED, TRUSTEE SANGER SECONDED to approve the October 9, 2007 regular meeting minutes.  The motion carried.

 

PUBLIC COMMENTS

 

The following people had questions and/or comments on code enforcement, the nuisance ordinance, and the fence ordinance:  Kendra Boyd, Rob Byg, David Ford, Rob Hardwick, Elizabeth Meister, and Linda Mergl.

 

The Town Clerk read a portion of the Ordinance No. 242, the fence ordinance, describing types of fencing that are acceptable and unacceptable.

 

REPORTS

 

Water & Sewer

The Town’s wells pumped 1,617,100 gallons of water in October, 2007.

 

APPROVAL AND PAYMENT OF BILLS

 

TRUSTEE LAVOIE MOVED, TRUSTEE STOUMBAUGH SECONDED to approve the payment of the bills.  Voting was as follows:

 

 

                YES:                       Fields, Johnson, Lavoie, Sanger, Stoumbaugh, Venter

                NO:                         None

                ABSTAIN:            None

                ABSENT:               Wood

The Mayor declared the motion carried.

 

NEW BUSINESS

 

Propane Heater Purchase

Last winter, the electric heater in the East Well chlorinator building did not provide enough heat to keep pipes from freezing.

 

TRUSTEE LAVOIE MOVED, TRUSTEE FIELDS SECONDED to approve the purchase and installation of a propane heater from Rocky Mountain Propane in Strasburg at a cost of $524.00 plus propane.  Voting was as follows:

                YES:                        Johnson, Lavoie, Sanger, Stoumbaugh, Venter, Fields

                NO:                         None

                ABSTAIN:            None

                ABSENT:               Wood

The Mayor declared the motion carried.

 

Rent on the 500-gallon propane tank is free the first year and $72/year thereafter.

No comments were offered.

 

ADJOURNMENT

 

TRUSTEE STOUMBAUGH MOVED, TRUSTEE LAVOIE SECONDED to adjourn the meeting.  The motion carried.
